When can GTA 6 be preloaded?

Players who preorder a digital version can begin preloading on November 12 at local midnight, one week before launch.

Preloading downloads the required game data before release, but it does not unlock the game early. Access is still scheduled for November 19 unless Rockstar or the platform store publishes a different regional unlock schedule.

Rockstar has not published a final installation-size figure. Players should avoid deleting games or buying storage based on unofficial file-size claims.

How does the boxed version preload?

The retail version contains a download code rather than a disc. Rockstar expects boxed copies to become available for shipping and retailer pickup starting November 12, and the code can be redeemed when received.

That means physical buyers may be able to preload, but their timing depends on when the retailer delivers the box or makes it available. A delayed shipment could mean less preload time than a direct digital order.

What bonuses come with eligible orders?

Purchases made before November 20 include the Vintage Vice City Pack:

This benefit applies to eligible Standard and Ultimate Edition purchases. It should not be confused with the larger collection of content included in the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition.

How does the free month of GTA+ work?

Digital purchases made before November 20 also include one month of GTA+. Rockstar says:

PlayStation users must redeem the offer by March 31, 2027.
Microsoft users must redeem it within 180 days of purchase.
The offer is limited to one redemption per platform account.
The membership automatically renews at the regular monthly rate unless canceled.

Existing GTA+ members can add the month to their current subscription. Buyers who do not want continuing billing should review the renewal settings after redemption.

Standard versus Ultimate timing

Both editions follow the same November 12 preload and November 19 launch schedule. Paying for the Ultimate Edition does not provide announced early access.

The difference is content, not timing. The Standard Edition contains the full game, while the Ultimate Edition adds confirmed vehicles, weapons, styles, shops and businesses. Standard Edition owners can purchase the upgrade later.
